capri sun taste test: the verdict

image

Just last night I went out to my local Walter Martins and bought all the regular flavors of Capri Sun. First of all, I know these aren’t all the flavors. I know I’m missing at least Grape. I swear I also saw Orange one day too. And I just remembered I’m missing Wild Cherry, but I left that out since that was the last box I went through. But out of the 8: Strawberry-Kiwi, Splash Cooler, Tropical Punch, Mountain Cooler, Pacific Cooler, Fruit Punch, Strawberry and Lemonade.

Bottom line: the “Coolers” taste very, very similar to each other. You probably wouldn’t notice. I can’t say why but I can tell you what each is different.

  • Splash has possibly a light citrus taste.
  • Mountain has a berry taste, like mixed berries.
  • Pacific is possibly due to the pineapple.

Surely you can figure these things out by looking at the pictures on the box/pouch, but overall, you almost can’t tell the difference.

  • Lemonade is okay. I probably won’t buy it again like Grape.
  • Grape? No sir, I didn’t like it.
  • Strawberry tastes watered down.
  • Strawberry-Kiwi, however, has a stronger presence.
  • Wild Cherry, I’m ashamed to admit, I don’t remember. It was okay, I think.
  • Tropical and Fruit Punch, you can’t really go wrong.

Who wins? Well for me I think it might be between Pacific and one of the Punches… like Tropical.

What say you?

fripodding and shazamming (again): “mollena” by james hunter

Once again, my DROID has done a wonderful job with providing me with information to an awesome song overheard on the radio. The radio was actually whatever Ruby Tuesdays plays… and this night in particular they seemed to be pretty heavy on John Mayer. Nothing against him, but James Hunter fitted the mood and groove I was feeling that night, and I definitely was curious about what else this guy does. Fortunately, RT played two of his songs. “Mollena” was actually the second one.

I’m actually still dissecting this song, let alone some of the other songs in his catalog, specifically and especially his most recent album. I only had about $15 of money to spend, so I bought one of his albums (which I’ll discuss in 2 weeks) and this song.

What I like about this song, and this artist, is the soulful bluesy-ness. Definitely a Sam Cooke vibe going on, and y’all know if you invoke his spirit in your music, you’re alright with me. This guy also proves that race/color/ethnicity doesn’t matter. I never really thought this was a problem. I mean, Joss Stone anyone? Anyway, regarding this song, it also has a Latin tinge to it. Or is it just me? Sam Cooke did this a few times I’m sure. Unless I’m confusing it with Ben E. King. Either way, I’m digging the relaxed mood this song gives.

Mr. Hunter was so far off my radar it seems like a crime. But hey, I’ll be back to talk about The Hard Way in a couple weeks. You see that? I’m actually telling you ahead of time! I’m not sure what point I’m trying to make there… but just go with it. OR… go check out his album before I review it so we are all on the same page!

fripodding and dreaming: “you make my dreams” by hall & oats

I don’t know much about Hall & Oats… other than their name reminds me of breakfast cereal that sounds dry. As of today, this is the only song I am now familiar with. And if the truth is told, there are probably other songs in existence that I’m aware of, but unaware that they are the voices behind them. I only discovered this song due to the very popular and underrated hit movie (500) Days of Summer.

If you haven’t seen the movie, I suggest running to your nearest Redbox (if you use their services), video store (if you know where one is still open), or add it to your Netflix queue (you should subscribe) unless you already own it (it’s on my list).

I’m not really sure what I can say about this song other than how good of a mood it puts me in. I relate to the character in the movie when this song is played. Had I known about this song, I think I would’ve reenacted that very scene in real in the same context. (You have to see the movie to know what I’m talking about.)

But as for everyone else, maybe you can just relate to just feeling good whenever the song is played. It has a very happy bounce to it, along with the positive lyrics to further the uplifting up tempo-ness of the mood. The song’s message is pretty simple, too: the singer is happy about his lady, because she makes his dream come true due to all the love and joy she brings in his life. For example, if he’s suffering from one of those waking nightmares, he can laugh at them due to his lady friend being there to keep him calm. Okay, that’s a wild interpretation of one of the lines in the song… but let’s just go for something simple. He’s singing about his dream girl, and now he doesn’t have to dream about her anymore because she’s real. A dream comes true. Aww, how special.

I feel bad I haven’t had time to make some quality playlists lately. I’ve barely had time to write here at the Indoob, as you can see from these friPod posts only. But not to worry, as I’ve said many times, it’s usually for good reasons like being busy on other writing projects or other things in general. I will admit some time is taken away due to LOST. I’ve been refraining from talking about it here… but we’ll wait until after the big finale before I divulge.

In the meantime, let’s all get in a good mood and think about someone who makes our dreams come true. If you have no one, just think of me. [Wink]

To hear the whole song AND check out an awesome video I found (by accident), check this out below! Also, ask yourself why they are taking money away from schools when they are doing amazing things like this…

fripodding and sweating: “when the lights go out” the black keys

Confession time, for the following song, I had to do some research to actually find out what the lyrics were before I officially declared love for this song. Not that it mattered if I knew them or not. But no worries, due to the fact that I love countless songs without knowing the lyrics or even comprehending what they really mean. For me, sometimes it’s all about the music/instrumentals/beat/etc.

Such is the case with this song I first heard (as I’m sure many others have) while watching the movie Black Snake Moan. I don’t know if some may remember the song due to what was going on at the time in the movie when the song was playing, but I must also confess, this song fit extremely well for what was being portrayed. To put it another way, this scene, as well as the movie itself, is not intended for kids. And to even post the clip of this movie would put my blog in the NSFW/Rated R category (which probably already passed that mark once I started posting Lady Gaga videos).

What is it about this song that I love? Well that steady driving beat, for one thing. It definitely sets the foundation at the beginning. There’s also the repetitious guitar riff. Is that a violin I hear gently whimpering? And of course the lead singers seemingly lazy yet rough style of singing. I’m tellin’ ya, the vibe this song gives can almost give one a heat stroke… especially if you are thinking of the movie. And I think that has a lot to do with how this song influences me.

The movie takes place in the hot sticky southern country, and by the time the movie ends, you’ll probably be sweating and looking for a glass of homemade lemonade to cool you off. I’m not trying to write a review for the movie, which I’m actually surprised I still don’t own yet, but the music is what makes this movie great. (So check out the soundtrack.) And we must give credit where credit is due, and The Black Keys’ “When the Lights Go Out” help set the stage about who this crazed Christina Ricci is that eventually gets chained up in Samuel L. Jackson’s house for rehabilitation purposes.

don’t it hurt so bad
when you’re standin in the sun
in the bottom of your heart
you don’t love no one

you can be oh so mean
I just can’t see, no in between
you know what the sun’s all about
when the lights go out

what a way to live
back of your class
end of the line
always last

you can be oh so mean
I just can’t see, no in between
you know what the sun’s all about
when the lights go out

see the moon
see the stars
from your lonely seat
in your lonely cars

you can be oh so mean
I just can’t see, no in between
you know what the sun’s all about
when the lights go out

Overall, and it’s been long overdo for me, I need to look into more of what The Black Keys have to offer. Fortunately, they have a number of albums from the past 10 years for me to explore. So once I find some more, I’ll be sure to share more of this blue-rock flavor with y’all.

“clash of the titans” (1981 and 2010) reviews *spoiler edition*

1981 Original

I can’t recall watching the original Clash of the Titans (1981) back in my youth, either on TV or in some English/history class… I’m pretty sure I did. But as I get older, my memory of those days when I was wee begins to fade. So to solve that problem, I just decided to watch the movie again before checking out the “new and improved” version that hit theaters in April. Besides, it’s not like it was a burden for me. I regularly enjoy Roman/Greek mythology stories. However, you won’t catch me watching Hercules or Xena on TV. Thanks, but no thanks.

As for the original Titans, it’s almost something to laugh at. I’m not going to mock it because I know a lot of people are fans of it. It’s a cult classic. Even with its outdated special effects and campy style of acting. And if the truth it told, the effects used were already old for it’s time. Star Wars was released four years before that… and we know how cutting edge that then. Anyway, just making a point that if you’ve never seen it and plan to in the near future, don’t expect to be too thrilled. But let’s not get caught up on that alone. How was the story? ‘Twas a good story! The acting left something to be desired, but I was along for the ride. From my understanding, the movie wasn’t expected to be top of the line and fell into the category of B-rated world. Movies made cheaply and close to 30 years ago, in my opinion, can have the chance to be remade. It doesn’t mean that they always should, but I wouldn’t start a riot or begin writing angry letters to the studios for certain exceptions.

Buy the poster! Scare wee children!

In comparison, the newer version definitely makes up for the stop-motion effects of yesteryear. I’ve heard complaints that maybe it was too much CGI, but in this age, CGI is the standard. For a movie like this, I would prefer it. But as long as I can suspend my disbelief long enough to believe you are being attacked by a giant scorpion, I’m not complaining. The acting in this movie also stepped their game up, somewhat. I would think they would have to since this movie is considered one of the big movies of the year. Don’t expect Oscar nods or anything, I’m just saying there is a difference. And the movie doesn’t have a requirement to see the original, but I just like to see what I’m missing or what’s been updated/changed. And there were changes, but I think it was to make the storytelling easier. The story has a lot of the same major plot points, but the journey, destinations, and motives were slightly skewed. With even a few new characters added, some in which I hope get spun off into their own adventure.

I read a comparison someone made of the original movie and the trailer for this one. He graded how the remake would be months before it was released. I have to admit, he came pretty close to what I felt after watching the movie! While the original had Thetis as the main “villain” (if you want to call her that), the remake has Hades. I’d also like to note, he has some of the best entrances in the movie. I don’t know why they wanted to change the gods involved, but my best guess is that more people can identify Hades and don’t have a clue of who Thetis is. I will say that both movies portray the gods rather accurately: they seldom get along; they play favorites; and they only look out for themselves and those that love them. Another difference is Perseus’ love interests are different. He still has a job to do: save the princess. But his motives for doing so aren’t the same. (*Spoilers at the bottom of post regarding differences*) There are a few other minor differences, like certain characters that are missing or that have been combined into one character. Perseus must complete his mission in 10 days instead of 30 days. He only gets a sword from the gods, not the other cool things like the helmet, shield or Bubo (who makes a cameo in the remake). The giant scorpions are still there; actually they are better in this movie. Medusa is still threatening, and honestly, she still looks just as fake as the original. But hey, they tried.

A quick note about trailers, I’m a fan of this one and it’s what hooked me from the start to wanting to see this version.

But the question still stands: which version is better? Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I know, I know, where the stank did this movie come from and why am I citing it? This movie came out earlier this year, geared towards teens but I think I can say I loved this movie more than both Titans. Essentially, all three tell the same myth of Perseus, of course with some creative differences here and there. The major one being Percy Jackson is in our current time, going to high school, with Mount Olympus being accessible via a magical elevator in the Empire State Building.

One final note about the newer Titans: Don’t see it in 3D. Trust me. I didn’t want to see it in 3D, but I got my ticket for the wrong showing. It is totally not worth it. Only see a 3D movie if it was intended to be in 3D, meaning it was filmed that way, like Avatar. I watched half this movie with the glasses off because it wasn’t needed (until things got blurry). I would need to write a separate piece regarding 3D altogether. Two out of three films I saw in this format have let me down. And with rising ticket prices, people need to be warned about being conned. So if you go to see this new version, don’t see the 3D version. You will enjoy it a lot more.

Regarding the Spoilers:

  • Perseus falls for demigod Io instead of the princess Andromeda. This becomes apparent when you notice Io gets more screen time and interaction with our hero than the princess does. So it would make sense for Perseus to pass on the crown when Andromeda offered it to him.
  • While I wouldn’t consider it really a spoiler, another note I forgot regards Perseus’ motives. Unlike the original, in this film Perseus is not fond of the gods, especially Zeus, his father. In fact, he doesn’t even consider him to be his father. He also rejects the gifts given to him and prefers to be more of a man than a god. Kudos for him, but I wanted to see him go invisible and really put that sward to use (which he later does).
  • And the two characters I hinted at before, I still don’t recall their names but they managed to tame one of the giant scorpions and went off to a new adventure. I’d be interested to see what they get into.

fripodding and stargazing: “under the milky way” by sia

More than likely, if you are an avid TV-watcher, you’ve probably heard this song… unless you have DVR and fast-forward all the commercials. And yes, it’s due to a Lincoln MKT car commercial that I first heard this song and became rather fond of it. As I had mentioned in a few posts before, I found the info for this song by way of my Droid and the Shazam app.

I tend to enjoy this song the most while driving. Could it be the reason why is due to this song being on a car commercial? Yes, it could be. And does my fondness of generally liking to listen to it at night, preferably starry night have anything to do with said commercial that seems to take place at night? Possibly, yes. But let’s take a look at why the company probably chose the song, yes?

For one thing, the song is called “Under the Milky Way” …so that should be an obvious reason as to why the commercial takes place at night, and why I would enjoy listening to this song long after the sun goes down. Most people know I’m a night person anyway, so songs explicitly dealing with a night time setting would have appeal to me. Not all songs of course, nor am I anti-day either. But I’m seriously known for stargazing and romancing about the moon.

I love how dreamy this song sounds and in turn makes me feel. Even with expensive gas prices, I still find time to just ride around with no particular destination while playing this song. It fits the mood perfectly. The dreamy sounds, I think, come from the acoustic guitar and Sia’s voice. Probably the backup singers too. There are some other instruments in there… probably made by a keyboard of some kind. But I don’t really analyze it much and just drift away with it. Don’t worry; I don’t drift away too much while driving. That would be unsafe.

My interpretation of this song is about someone who is out on a quest to find something. The singer wishes she knew what this person was looking for. Is it something specific? Is it meaning or a purpose in life? Is it something peculiar, shiny and white? (Is it a Lincoln?) Maybe she could help them find it… under the Milky Way tonight.

With a quick bit of research, I discovered the meaning, which sadly ruined some of the magic for me… but I get it. It’s a bit late for me to say it but Sia’s version is a cover of The Church’s original. They were singing about a music venue called Melkweg (which means Milky Way in Dutch).

I’m also aware of  it being featured in the movie Donnie Darko. At this time in my life, I can’t recall hearing it in that movie since I haven’t seen the movie in years. The only song I do remember is “Notorious” by Duran Duran, but this is all leading into another story.

Whether driving or just mellowing out, this song is ideal and there is no shame in wanting it after hearing it from the commercials. Although, I find it humorous that I’d want the song and nothing to do with the car it’s trying to advertise. Might I add, Lincoln is also guilty of another song I want but is unavailable: Cat Power’s cover of “Space Oddity.” That’s song #2, Ms. Power. Stop playing around and release full versions of awesome!

wrong number: based on a true story

Just the other day, I made a little boo-boo that I’m sure every American must have made at one time or another while holding a phone of some kind. And usually, it’s an honest mistake. One that shouldn’t be punished for, unless you are a repeat offender, then by all means, discipline should be administered immediately! No, I’m not talking about drunk dialing, crank calling, psychic hotlines or calling up NASA to ask for rides to space. I’m talking about a specific kind of “wrong number” dialing.

One sunny and warm afternoon, I’m making my phone calls that I get paid to make, enjoying the pleasantries of the receptionists, operators or occasional grizzly bears that answer the phone. Hey, I can’t see them, so it could be a polar bear. Either way, they are clever enough to learn English, but not quite that well. Anyway, it was such a great day that I was going through my list of phone calls like tokens given to children at Chuck E. Cheese. Perhaps I was going a little too fast for my own good. When it came to dialing, my fingers looked like a blur. Just wave your hand over the key pad to the nearest phone. It’s like magic. I dial a phone like Mozart plays the piano. Yes, that’s how fast I was. Sure, a wrong number here and there, but not due to my dialing. Oh no. I was too awesome for that. Besides, if I did hit a wrong key, I, with the briskness, hung up and wave across the keypad again.

But on this fantastic afternoon, I’m going to say it was an evil crumb from a phantom cake that must’ve fallen on and into the keypad. Specially, the #1 button. If it wasn’t that, perhaps some menacing angry coffee drop from a hastily placed mug fresh from being brewed and painfully sipped (due to the freshly brewed part). Or maybe it was just a ghost. I don’t know, but while dialing a certain New York area code, I somehow managed to dial 1-9-1-1. I may have dialed a few more numbers after that, but as we all know, I “Mozart” the keypad, so it’s difficult to say. I quickly hung up, and began redial. 3.8 nanoseconds later, in the midst of the other call I had just dialed, I see an incoming call with “YOURCITY’S PD!” on the called ID. I’m quite unclear as to whom this is, or why, not even considering the accidental blunder I made. I didn’t even know this caller ID was able to produce exclamation points (!). Since no one had picked up the line I was calling, I quickly jumped over to the new call.

To my distress, I quickly learned that the “PD” was for Police Department, and they wanted to know my emergency. I quickly replied that there wasn’t an emergency, but they insisted checking it out anyway. In retrospect, I could see that my pleading for them to not come to my location might sound a bit suspicious, and hey, it’s better for everyone to be safe than sorry. Right? So they ask me my name, what I’m wearing, and where exactly I am located. I comply, nervously. The lady I’m speaking with sounds no-nonsense, much like some of the other people I talk to on a daily basis… but this time she is the one asking the questions. And if I don’t give the right answers, doom will rain upon me. Even if I did give correct answers, I think doom would still approach.

And doom did indeed approach–within 16 seconds after hanging up the phone. However, “approach” is too light of a word. Doom stormed within 16 seconds and in the form of four squad cars, an ambulance, a fire engine, an EMT, a news crew, two helicopters (one of them might’ve been part of the news crew), the National Guard with an Army tank on loan and dark ominous clouds which filled the sky. The first cop on the scene flew out of the car and onto my front door, literally landing on it, causing it to break off the hinges and fall onto the floor just before my feet, with him standing on it and looking me eyeball to eyeball. The cop car he flew out of later crashed in a tree and burst into flames. Good thing the fire engine was there.

Meanwhile, the officer, who had no idea what “personal space” was, inspected my soul by way of an intense staring contest that felt like it lasted for days. It was really only less than a minute before he began to speak, asking me for identification, birth certificate, SSN, blood type and library card. All of which I was able to pour out of my pocket upon request. Without breaking his stare-down, he collected my credentials and tossed them to his partner behind him, who casually approached from his own car and began talking about the baseball game. The face-officer then asked if anyone else was home. I was thankful he wasn’t shouting due to his proximity. He then left my face, and my personal zone to investigate the house like a banshee. I, for the first time since hanging up the phone, was able to inhale.

The baseball cop asked me what happened as he took out his notepad. I explained it was all an accidental misdial and he understood. He then showed me the picture he drew of a little piggy. The banshee cop returned, said everything was alright, and went back into his car that was still on fire and drove away. The other cop asked me if I was a Yankee or Red Sox fan. I told him I like New York, hoping it was the right answer, and he proceeded to tell me how the game was going, as if I had actually cared to begin with. I don’t think he cared about my response either way, as he turned and walked back to his car, exclaiming that he was missing the game.

As he drove away, everyone else left too. The helicopters flew away, fire trucks drove off, news crews went to the studio and the curiously frightened neighbors in their pajamas and robes went back in their houses. The sun came back out. The birds started chirping. Small children that I don’t think even live in my neighborhood ran to the ice cream truck that materialized out of some bushes next door. Life had resumed.

Kids, the moral of the story is this: keep your keypads and keyboards clean.

fripodding and maxing: “fistful of tears” music video by maxwell

I really want to say that this video speaks for itself with simplicity, soul and style. But on one hand, some people might not see/hear that, and on the other hand, I just said it… and that’s the point of me writing about it. But I say that to say, this video is amazing because of how simple it is. And I think Maxwell would agree with me that it’s all about the music. There’s nothing big and flashy going on. Well, not in the in-your-face special effects or props, sense. It’s just Maxwell singing his heart out, with silhouettes of his band behind him. That’s really the key here, I think, that makes this unique. Surely it could be simple shadows, but then it goes further in the special effects to contrast those shadows into something brighter. There’s also a sexy lady that Maxwell could possibly be singing to, or maybe she’s just feeling it and singing with him. And what the stank is that at 1:44? I’m not sure of the language, but it gives it an added coolness that it’s not in English.

I read that it invokes a Sam Cookian quality to it, which I would agree. That whole Ed Sullivan Show vibe. And let’s not forget both Sam and Maxwell definitely master soul singing at it’s best. And is it really necessary to mention style? That’s a given. Yet what’s also interesting is the fact that he’s the only one you actually see.

As one might imagine, after watching this video, this song was on repeat for a good hour or so. I start to say to myself, “This dude should get a Grammy,” and then I remember… “Oh yeah, he did. Good job, dude!” Good job, indeed. So for those of you who aren’t up to speed, first of all, where have you been? Secondly, be sure to check him out ASAP. And to Maxwell… when is Part 2, aka blackSUMMERS’night coming out already?!? I can only listen to this current album another 367 times.

slowing down and smelling flowers

A small fraction of the daffodils at the park

Hubbard Park from the passenger seat of Alice

1 of 436 flying buggies that tried to get in my car

Every so often I need to be reminded to “stop and smell the roses.” Well, today I’m not near any roses so daffodils will have to do. On sunny, warm Saturday afternoons like today has been, it is important to take in these sights, sounds, smells and even feelings. By the way, I smell someone grilling nearby and I’m feeling calm with a twist of pensive reflections.

Today, I decided to spend some time at the park with Alice while enjoying some relaxing music. John Legend is on call at the moment. Normally I take a lap around the pond on foot, but I’m just going to sit and admire. My next step would be to take over a bench… but alas, I forgot my earphones yet again. No worries, that’s what Alice is for.

Another important thing to note while I bask in this beauty: my mind is pretty free. I’m not concerned with anything or anyone. It’s nice. Just as quickly as I realized this, tiny buggy things attacked Alice, forcing me to roll up my windows. Sadness. Could be worse. They could’ve been mosquitos, or bees! Then watch my calmness disappear followed by an intense drive home. Good times, indoob.

fripodding and freeing: joss stone

I’ve been listening to Joss Stone for quite a few years now. Those closest to me know that it’s no secret I have a crush on this girl. And it’s a crush that started when I first heard her voice, way before I ever saw her face. (Seeing her face made the crush grow even more.)

I would like to credit myself as being one of her original fans, starting to listen to her when she released her first album back in 2003, The Soul Sessions. At the time, I was more familiar with her song “Fell in Love with a Boy” than I was the original White Stripes “Fell in Love with a Girl”. I will even admit, at the time I wasn’t sure who sang the original. I am much the wiser now and choose to listen to one or the other solely based on my mood.

Speaking of “soul” …every so often I’m on a quest to find some modern day soul singers. Hearing straight R&B is everywhere, and that’s not a problem. But sometimes, I want something deeper. Something I can really feel. Something my idols like Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye would be proud of. Fortunately, I’ve found it with the likes of Stone. And what I love is that she’s consistent. I can rely on superb soul singing from her each and every time I see her name listed on a song. From a guest spot on a Santana song to performing on any award show. Hey Joss! I’m the son of a preacher man!

What impresses me about her is not just her voice, but how mature it sounds. I think she would fit right in with the 60’s and 70’s. Even with her earlier look, her style of dress seemed to be on the hippie side… which also is not a bad thing. But like me, she’s young in age (a year younger than me, actually) but with a very mature soul and obviously digs the R&B/soul classics, like me. Again, there is nothing wrong with current R&B… other than a handful of artists that seem to sound and/or look the same. I’m attracted to what makes artists different, specifically their voices. I fell in love with hearing her voice. There’s even a specific style, which Joss definitely has.

If you’ve ever seen her perform live (like a video above): always barefoot. That’s sexy. (Don’t forget, I have a major crush on this girl.) As a fellow performer, having performed with others at other venues, I know that for some people, performing barefoot might be more of a spiritual thing as well as artistic. It all depends on the person. Meaning, for some, it keeps them connected to Mother Earth, so to speak. At least that’s what they tell me. Others? They are just more comfortable. The only time I see being barefoot as a problem is if you’re a tap dancer.

But back to Joss. I feel a little sad that she is not as well known as some of my other favorites like Alicia Keys or John Legend. In a strange way, I’m kinda glad about that because it makes me feel like I found a secret. A jewel that has ultimate worth, but very few people are aware so I can bask in the wonders. Then one day, everyone discovers what I’ve always known. By then, all I’m entitled to is bragging rights. I wouldn’t really care though, I’d just be happy she’d be getting the spotlight.

And I know there are people that know about her. She’s even dabbled into some acting. I’m ashamed to admit, I haven’t seen anything she’s been in yet. I know what they are, I just haven’t seen them yet.

And what a lousy fan I am. She’s been on tour a few times that I may have been able to see and missed her at least twice so far! And the first time I missed her, she was touring with John Legend of all people! SERIOUSLY? Yeah, I was a little upset about this. Then when she was touring again, had I chose to follow through with purchasing a ticket, I would’ve had to choose between a Legend concert or a Stone concert. Needless to say, I didn’t see either.

But since Ms. Stone celebrates her 23rd birthday on the 11th, I chose to write about her today. So happy birthday Joss Stone. Here are a few more of my favorite songs.

I literally just heard this and needed to post it. “People Get Ready” is an all time favorite song of mine and didn’t know she did a cover… and boy did she cover it.

And I happened upon this fun music video that I didn’t know existed. I’m really digging it and I would just like to say, I’d happily trade places to be with this crazy girl.
